About Queer in Asia
Queer in Asia is an English-language online publication that centers queer voices, businesses, and books across Asia.
For far too long, most English-language queer media is written by, and for Western audiences.
Asia is just a tourist destination, a fun place to hang out.
In direct contrast, Queer in Asia aims to bring you the stories of queer Asians in their own words, to the world.
About the founder
Queer in Asia is founded by The Straits Times bestselling author Koh An Ting (she/they) who has volunteered in various queer organisations in Singapore in various capacities.
Her time at Free Community Church, RainbodhiSG, and The Other Book Club has allowed her to meet a great diversity of queer people from all over Asia and share in the richness of their lives.
Her two most recent books include Fearfully & Wonderfully Made: Stories from Conversion Therapy Survivors in Singapore (Rainbow Lapis Press, 2025) and Food Haikus (Purple Ink Press, 2025).
